Sweta Khadka watches Kohinoor, cried all the time

In a VIP show of ‘Kohinoor’ organized in Kumari theater on September 1, 2014 Sweta Khadka, the actress and widow of late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha watched the movie with Shree Krishna’s 82 years-old mother. Sweta cried throughout the two and half hours-long movie she produced jointly with Shree Krishna Shrestha.


weta and Shree Krishna had promised to watch the  movie with the viewers after its release. Although Shree Krishna couldn’t make it because of his death the next day of the movie’s release, Sweta kept the promise on the 25th day of the release of the movie.
A number of VIP guests including ex-prime minister Baburam Bhattarai, Hisila Yami, Information Minister Minindra Rijal, Arjun Narsingh KC were present in the show. Other guests include SSP Ramesh Kharel, Rukangat Katuwal, Anuradha Koirala, Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Jharana Thapa, ‘Kohinoor’ director Aakash Adhikari, Karishma Manandhar, Gauri Malla, Ashok Sharma etc.

Shree Krishna Shrestha died during his honeymoon tour with his recently married wife, Sweta Khadka.


Rekah Thapa didn’t show up in the convention in the USA


Rekha Thapa and Sudarshan Gautam didn’t show up in the ANMA – NASeA Joint convention organized in Denver Colorado from August 29 to August 31, 2014. Rekha was scheduled to premier her upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’ and meet the guests of the event. But, the premier show was canceled at the last minute and Rekha and Sudarshan also didn’t show up in the program to meet the guests.

The convention was organized at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Denver International Airport. Rekha had arrived there on September 27 with her mother Saraswati Thapa.

After the convention, Rekha and her mother had headed towards New York on September 2. Although most of the participants didn’t see Rekha in the program, she had taken a few photos with some of the convention participants and shared in her Facebook page.

Prof Dr Pokharel appointed NAST vice-chancellor


Prime Minister and Chancellor of National Academy of Science and Technology ( NAST ) Sushil Koirala has appointed Prof Dr Jeevraj Pokharel of Lubhu, Lalitpur the vice-chancellor of the NAST .

The appointment was made on the basis of the recommendation made by a committee formed under the leadership of the Minister for Science, Technology and Environment.

The committee comprised National Planning Commission vice-chair Dr Govinda Pokharel and Environment Secretary Dr Krishna Chandra Poudel, informed PM's press coordinator Prakash Adhikari.

The Environment Minister is the ex-officio co-chancellor of the Academy. The Environment Ministry is presently a portfolio assumed by Prime Minister Koirala himself.

NAST vice-chancellor Pokharel has been appointed for a four-year term.
